Of Diets and Exercise

I have tried many types of diets, but still haven't found one that agrees with my system. While I lost almost 3 kg doing Atkins, that involved lots of DIY wrapping and massages. So, not sure which to attribute the success to, dieting or creams or BOTH.

Then I tried South Beach Diet, that one, hmm, let's just say it's not too tough to do compared to Atkins. The theory behind South Beach Diet is very sound too. But one has to be really disciplined and determined to follow the South Beach Diet. I did two weeks in Phase 1, went on happily to Phase 2 and even happier . . . back to where I started duh!

All these while, actually when I started Atkins, I started exercising. Yes, horrors of horrors, after decades of zero exercise, I often wonder, what came over me? I actually looked forward to exercising. Even signed up for super affordable personal training sessions (@ S$15 per lessons, so cheap where to find?) Guess I conquered the psychological barrier of "exercise is NOT for me" finally. Anyway, I am happy to announce that since end of 2002 I have tried to exercise two to three times a week. Kudos to me!

But after all these years of sweat and toil, I still find excess bagage around the mid-section :( Yah yah, many have told me "but you look alright, so tall, where got fat?" Ah, wait till I stop camouflaging. Meanwhile, I should be thankful for having good dress sense huh?

All of you who are slender and slim will never understand the pain. Yes, being a mother of two does not mean we should have a body that declares this. While we should be happy and content to be who we are, we too are entitled to have desires of returning to our pre-motherhood figures too, don't we? Besides, all these new mothers aren't doing much to make us feel better. They spring right back to their pre-baby figures just like that, snap. Wonder what's the difference. Hmm, doesn't help that I had put on 18 kilos for child number one . . . and 10 years later, still have what? 4 kilos of the weight hanging around, literally.

Enough whining, time to cook dinner.
